Military Mahadeva Temple

The most important is the Maha Shivaratri which is celebrated on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of Hindu calendar month Maagha as per Amavasya-ant month calculation. As per Poornima-ant month calculation, the day is Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of Hindu calendar month Phalguna which falls in February or March as per the Gregorian calendar. Of the twelve Shivaratris in the year, the Maha Shivarathri is the most holy. The Maha Shivaratri is Celebrated in grand every year. The celebration included Kazcha Sheeveli accompanied with Elephant, Chuttu Vilakku, Vilakinezhunallippu, Niramala, Maha Ganapati Homam etc. Cultural programs of Children are also conducted along with Prasadam distribution and Annadanam (Lunch) to all the devotees. Year by year the temple is gaining more devotees and developments for a peace and Safe pilgrimage. On every Monday and especially on Mahashivratri Day - Samuhik Panchamrut or collective offering of the Panchamrut is made (Panchamrut is made of milk, honey, yogurt, sugar and ghee). The foundation stone of Military Mahadev Temple was laid on January 18, 1954. The temple was opened to public on January 24, 1955 by Lieutenant General S.M. Shrinagesh, General Officer and Commander-in-Chief Southern Command. Military Mahadev Temple is located in Belgaum, Karnataka. The temple and the park around it have become a popular destinations for locals as well as visitors. Known as one of the oldest temples here, Military Mahadev Temple was renovated recently. Kittur Fort and Palace

Kittur Fort is one of the major historical monuments in Karnataka and one of its famous tourist attractions. The fort is located in the town of Kittur that is situated at a distance of about 50 km from Belgaum and around 32 km from Dharwad.
