Chaitanya Jyoti Museum

Chaitanya Jyoti Museum is home to a collection of artefacts that depicts the life of Sathya Sai Baba from his early childhood till date. Formally inaugurated on 18th November 2000, the museum visualises the advent of Sathya Sai Baba through multimedia presentation techniques. Multimedia presentations organised at the museum also depict all those incidents, which reveal the divinity of Sathya Sai Baba. Only museum of India that has complete Chinese, Japanese or Thai architecture, was designed by a scientist of NASA, Art-ong Jum Sai. Chinese roofs of the museum have been oriented with the Gothic arches. Moorish spires of the museum display a medley of diverse architectural methods that presents the beautiful synthesis of the modern and the traditional styles. It was inaugurated on 18th November 2000 to commemorate the 75th year of the advent of Sathya Sai Baba. Roof of the museum is the biggest Chinese roof outside mainland China, and is flanked on both sides by two Moorish domes made of titanium. Gothic arches crown the semi-circular ends of the roof. Japanese style roofs make up the two lift shaft. Inaugurated by Sathya Sai Baba in November 2000, Chaitanya Jyoti Museum was built to commemorate and promote his life and mission. The museum will remind you of the Buddhist Gompas of China. Its Chinese roofs oriented with Gothic arches show magnificent style of modern architecture. Designed by a scientist of NASA, Art-ong Jum Sai, the structure attracts tourists from all over the world. Meditation Tree is a banyan tree that was planted by Sathya Sai Baba within the premises of Sathya Sai Ashram. To enhance the brooding spirit among those who contemplate at the ashram, Sathya Sai Baba placed a thick metal plate at the root of the tree. Characterised as a special zone for meditation, the site has separate areas for women and men devotees. After sunset and before sunrise, women are not allowed to visit the site. Meditation Tree is the sacred banyan tree which was planted by Sathya Sai Baba in the holy ambience of the ashram. He kept a thick metal plate at the tree root in order to increase the brooding spirit of the people who contemplate at the site. The place is featured as a significant zone for mediation purpose and separate areas of men and women are distributed to meditate near the tree.
