Sri Ram Temple

Sri Rama temple can be categorized under Religious places and is a popular tourist place in Rajampet. This Sri Rama temple draws huge crowds from the neighboring places of Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Tirupathi, Srisailam, Karimnagar, Nellore, Warangal, Basara, and Kadapa. The temple is present in Vontimitta town of Rajampet talk in YSR Kadapa District. Vontimitta SriSri RamaTemple is at a distance of around 25.1 km from YSR Kadapa district and it takes about 28 minutes to reach this ancient historic and cultural temple by road. Languages spoken by the local people at Vontimitta are Telugu and Urdu. It was the official temple for conducting Sri Ramanavami celebrations declared by the Andhra Pradesh State as Sri Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam is now a part of newly formed Telangana State. Sri Soumyanatha Swamy

Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Temple located in Nandalur is a famous temple in Cudappah district of Andhra Pradesh. The presiding deity is Lord Balaji in the divine form of Soumyanatha Swamy and is seen here with His consort Sri Maha Lakshmi Ammavaru.The Soumyanatha Swamy Temple dates back to the period of 11th century. It is built on 108 sculpted pillars on a sprawling 10-acre land on the banks of Bahuda River in Nandalur. The temple is famous for its architectural marvel which is built in old Chola style by the Matli kings, the then rulers of Cuddapah district. This place nandalur is known as a famous Buddhist site. The temple has several inscriptions in Tamil on its walls. The entire temple is constructed using red-stone.The temple has four Rajagopurams overlooking the four directions. Mahadwara Gopuram is on the eastern side while other gopurams are on the west, north and southern directions. There is a deepasthambham with four lion heads sculpted on it. There is also a high dhwajasthambham, a balipeetham, and a water tank called koneru and a huge yagnashala. On the walls of the temple there are images of fish, the Sun and the Moon. There is also a carving of a huge fish on the ceiling of the temple. Local devotees believe that someday the fish will come to life and disappear into the ocean. The pillars of the Mandapam have lion heads at the bottom of the pillar.Besides regular poojas and archanas, special poojas, Brahmotsavams and Kalyanotsavams. Brahmotsavams begin on a grand scale commencing with thirumanjanam, dhajarohanam, ankurarpanam, mrutcham grahanam, vastu santhi homam and kalasasthapanam, and several other programmes like Urchavar deities are taken round the village on various vehicle-carriers like Yaalivahanam, Hamsavahanam, Simhavahanam, Seshavahanam, and garudavahanam, Suryaprabha Vahanam and Chandraprabha Vahanam. Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences

Annamacharya Institute of Technology & Sciences, Rajampet is an AUTONOMOUS institution and is affiliated to JNTUA, Anantapuramu. The institute was started in the year 1998 under the auspices of Annamacharya Educational Trust in picturesque surrounding on a spacious 30 acre campus near Tallapaka, the birth place of Annamacharya, the renowned saint poet. The Institute is well located on Hyderabad - Chennai Highway. Sri. C. Gangi Reddy garu, Hon Secretary of Annamacharya Educational Trust. He was born in the year 1954 to Choppa Narayana Reddy and Choppa Rajamma, a farmers family in Siddulapally, very close to Thallapaka the birth place of saint poet Annamacharya. He completed his initial education in Thallapaka and then went to Govt. Jr. College, Rajampet for intermediate and B.Com at Degree College, Sri Kalahasti in the year 1975. He got his Post Graduate degree Master of Commerce from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in the year 1977. He started his official career in the department of agriculture immediately after post graduation but having got selected through APPSC Group-II immediately joined as Sub Register in the registration department of AP Government. He took a decision to establish the Annamacharya Educational Trust in the year 1997 with a number of his well wishers as the members of the trust, he himself being the Hon Secretary in the educational trust. Established an engineering college by name Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences in the year 1998 at Rajampet, Annamacharya College of Pharmacy in the year 2001, Annamacharya College of Education also in the same year on the Rajampet campus. Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences at Piglipur, Hyderabad was started in the year 2006 and one Engineering college by the same name at Tirupati in the year 2007. Another Engineering college by the same name Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences, started at Kadapa in the year 2010. Dr.C.Ramachandra Reddy, a practicing children specialist in Rajampet is the chairman of Annamacharya Educational Trust, the sponsoring organization of the institute.
