Dowleswaram-Barrage

Dowleswaram Barrage was constructed with a view to serve irrigation. The barrage was built on the last stretch of the magnificent Godavari River. The barrage is successful in accomplishing the reason for its construction by making the land fertile with its waters. The barrage was also successful in averting famines that were a common occurrence during British period. Kadiyapulanka

Located about 8 kms from Rajahmundry, it straddles National Highway-5 and is a nature paradise with an excellent collection of flowers and fruits and is popular for its thriving floriculture and horticulture trade. The place abounds with dazzling colourful gardens of Jasmine, Roses, Chrysanthemums, Lilies and Kanakambaram and ornamental plants like Archaria, song of India, Johnny Fresh, Dracenia, and Arclias, etc. Every year in the month of January, an annual flower show is held when one can see a wide range of nature.Kadiyapulanka is a Village in Kadiam Mandal in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh State, India. It belongs to Andhra region . Kotilingeshwara-Temple

Swami Madanananda Swamy was staying in his own built Ashramam supervised and guided the construction work of temple till its completion. From 26-5-1979 (Siddhartha Nama Samvastara Jyesta Shudha Panchami) to 30-5-1979 the prathista (installation) of idols Devatha Murthulu) was performed. In the Garbhalaya (Sanctum, Sanctorium) more than one crore, Parthiva (Earth) Lingams, Shiva Panchakshari written manuscripts were placed one feet deep inside the earth under the main Lingam. On these the main idol of Lingam brought from Varanasi was installed. In the Garbhalaya (Sanctum, sanctorium) Shiva Pachayathanam, Maha Ganapathi, Nandeeshwar, Dwara Palakas, and idols of Adishankara Charya, Dathathreya, Raja Rajeshwari Devi and Gayathri Matha were installed on bothe sides of the entrance to sanctum, sanctorium. Many great people, pandits, poojaris, Veda Scholars actively participated and contributed their share in Alaya Prathista and installation of idols. Harikathas, Burra Kathas, Bhajan Programmes were conducted. Akhanda Annadanam was performed . Vedic Rituals were conducted by Brahma Sri Palakurthi Narsimha Rama Sindhanthi and Sri Gattepally Sharabharadyulu Garu. On 30th may 1979 (Siddharthi Nama Samvastara Jyesta Shudha Panchami) Yantra Vigraha Prathista ritual activities were performed with the holy hands of Sri Sri Sri Madanananda Swamiji. The temple was constructed with the co-operation and contributions from people of Siddipet and surrounding villages involving few lakhs of Rupees.Kotilingeswara Temple was constructed in the 10th century and it is among the famous tourist attractions of Rajahmundry. This beautiful temple is surrounded by various bathing ghats and attracts many devotees and tourists. It is a pilgrimage centre for the believers of Lord Shiva and is frequented by pilgrims to make a dip in holy water. It is believed by local priests that Sage Gautama cursed the king Indra. He placed a Shivalingam in order to wash off his sins and relieved himself from the curse. Moreover, he anointed the Shivalingam with water of around 1 crore rivers. Markandeya-Temple

Markandeya Temple is considered as the ruin of a mosque situated near Chanda Satram or Satram-Choultry. After the archaeological surveys, it was discovered that the mosque was confirmed as a Shiva Temple. In 1818, this temple was reconstructed by Gundu Sobhanadriswara Rao. The temple finds its entrance from Gundu vari Street, where Gundu Sobhanadriswara Rao lived. A legend is associated with the temple that Muni Mrukhanada, a believer of Lord Shiva, prayed for a child. Lord Shiva made her choose either between a child and a husband or a child, who will be alive only for 11 years. Muni choose the baby who was named as Markandeya. The boy dedicated his whole life in worshipping Lord Shiva and even placed a Lingam, which still exists in this temple. It is believed that when Yamaraj, the God of Death, came to take his life, Lord Shiva himself protected him and blessed him with the boon of life.
